Two of the hardest working hands on cattle ranch are the horse and dog. A good horse that knows the tricks and moves when it's master is roping or cutting cattle, is worth many thousands of dollars. A good chase dog that rounds up strays or moves cattle into pens is worth his weight in gold. While neither of these hands are paid a wage, they are paid many times over with care, affections and love. At the the end of the day they have earned the right to run and romp - Free as friends.
